Local moving in Oregon and Washington is regulated in the state of Oregon and the state of Washington.  The Public Utilities Commission regulates the movers to protect consumers from scams.  All intrastate movers are required to have a permit which allows the state to audit their books to keep the movers ethical and professional.  This is done to protect you from falling victim to an unscrupulous person masquerading as a licensed and bonded moving company.
